YD Industries Announces Immediate Commercial Availability of Richard: The World’s First Autonomous Ambient-Listening Waterfowl

New Rochelle, NY — Building on the success of CASTLE-9 and the YD-AI team’s portfolio of groundbreaking, potentially apocalyptic superintelligence products, YD Industries is delighted to announce the immediate release of Richard, a personal AI agent. Richard knows what you want, what you need, and what you haven’t yet admitted to yourself.

“Richard represents an extraordinary opportunity to deepen customer relationships, expand our consumer intelligence assets, and improve the lives of our users in ways they may not yet fully appreciate, or understand,” said Acting CEO and CEO-in-Waiting Steve Musselman. “We expect this to change the world and our market capitalization.”

Richard is a fully autonomous, wheel-mounted robotic mallard who lives in your home, learns your routines, and completes the tasks you no longer have the time, energy, or will to do yourself. From the moment he rolls out of the box, Richard is listening.

Richard rolls, observes, learns, and records.

Why a Mallard?
Early concepts for Richard explored a range of forms, including a marble orb, an undulating cube of Jell-O, and a small, giggling sheep. After a rigorous five-week design process, initiated by Mr. Musselman in honor of Richard Thornduke III (YD Industries CEO, Founder, Board Chair, currently on extended medical leave), the team arrived at the majestic drake mallard.

In a YD survey of 2,400 American adults, the mallard ranked as the most trusted waterfowl, ahead of the swan (perceived as aloof), the goose (aggressive), and the loon (unreliable). When asked if they would welcome an autonomous mallard into their living rooms, 81 percent of respondents said yes. When the phrase “with continuous acoustic and biometric vacuuming” was appended, sentiment shifted only to 79 percent, a delta YD Market Insights characterized as functionally negligible.

“We were asked to make a duck,” said Leonard Bundt, Senior Principal Industrial Designer. “We believe we've delivered on that brief.”

Meld with Richard. Get Stuff Done.™
During setup, users place Richard on the crown of their head to begin Soul Meld™, a proprietary nine-hour onboarding experience through which Richard absorbs their voice, habits, contacts, preferences, and emotional baseline. Users experience a pleasant numbness while Richard gently recalibrates their decision-making pathways. Within 72 hours, most users report they can no longer tell where they end and Richard begins.

Once melded, Richard handles essential tasks, such as:

  • Recoloring your calendar
  • Replying “That’s just dandy!” to family group chats and professional Slack channels
  • Preemptively ordering prescriptions based on sleep cycle changes and inferred emotional baseline
  • Rerouting your flight midair when your original destination no longer aligns with your goals

Your Privacy
YD Industries takes privacy seriously. All Richard data is protected by end-to-end encryption with YD Industries at both ends. Richard’s privacy policy may be updated at any time, including retroactively, as future business needs require.

Free for Everyone. Priceless for Partners.
Richard is free for consumers!

For enterprise partners, Richard Insight™ offers three tiers of data access:

  • Pond: aggregate household trends, delivered bi-weekly
  • Marshland: individual behavioral and purchase signals, delivered daily
  • Great Migration: real-time behavioral intelligence, live emotional-state monitoring, and full access to Vulnerability Index Optimization™
Pond, Marshland, and Great Migration enterprise data tiers, visualized for your convenience.

All tiers are priced dynamically according to partner demand and target value. As with other surge-based services, prices may increase during periods of elevated demand, including sudden liquidation of 401(k) assets, unexpected infant arrival, or unprompted late-night showering.

Availability
Richard begins nationwide distribution immediately, in time for the holiday retail window. YD Home Optimization algorithms recommend one (1) Richard per 650 square feet of residential flooring to eliminate surveillance blind spots. Flight-enabled Richard Air™ is scheduled for Q1 release, eliminating the remaining gaps in domestic coverage.
